A person's word is their mark of integrity and reinforces the ideals for which they stand There are times when a man is unable to deliver on promises due to outside circumstances. Planters First in Fitzgerald held their grand opening on
April 9th. The bank had requested a building that fit the rich
architectural heritage of the city. The downtown area was visited and the final
design reflects elements from the downtown, especially the central mass of the
bank. The wings pay homage to the original building located on the
site, the Planters Warehouse.
The 6,400 square foot facility was constructed by Brown Brothers Construction of Rochelle for a cost of $1,250,000. Visit Planters First and other bank projects on our website. |

Services of an Architect by Robert C. Foreman
PROGRAMMING:
Determine project objectives, space
needs and long term needs. BUDGETING: This task involves preparing a budget of total project cost including all cost associated with the project. SPACE UTILIZATION STUDY: The architect recommends reallocation of space, renovation of spaces and addition of new space where required. SCHEMATIC DESIGN: The Schematic Design includes an updated site plan, showing the next proposed phase of construction, a floor plan and exterior elevations. It may include interior elevations or a building section. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: The architect continues to develop the design in more detail including building sections, wall sections and details of construction. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS: During this phase, the architect and his consultants complete all working drawings and specifications in order that the project can be priced and built. BIDDING / NEGOTIATION: The project is priced through one of several optional methods, usually a low bid or negotiation. CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION: The architect visits the job on a regular basis to monitor the quality and progress of the work and to report observed deviations from the contract drawings and specifications. POST OCCUPANCY: The architect will continue to be available after occupancy, and will continue to act as an intermediary with the contractor during the warranty period.
